Having been unable to get an emergency appointment two days running I eventually got an appointment at the Woking community Centre with a Doctor who was very helpful and prescribed antibiotics but said I had to see one of my own Doctors the following Monday to be told it would be the 6April before I could get an appointment. today is the 22 February. My husband was so disgusted that he arranged a private consultation for me. Mainly because I will probably need a further course of antibiotics. I only go to the Doctors if it is imperative. I am 80 years old.

I can't remember when I last needed a doctor's appointment but had registered for the online service to make it easier when I did need one. I've just logged in to find that the first appointment is in 5 weeks' time!!!! I've had to give one star for some of the answers above because there isn't an N/A option.

Having found a swelling on my back near my spine my partner telephoned the surgery today 6th Feb 2019 to book a appointment. I work full time self employed so need a evening one. Earliest routine appointment offered to me is 13th March despite the fact that this is a lump. The skin colour is different. The receptionist told my partner to hold (took 25 mins to get through in the first place) she came back on after 2mins and said that she'd spoke to the gp and was told that it didn't sound anything ominous Outrageous! So walk in centre say go to gp. Gp wont see you. No access to practise manager. How is this caring for your patienrs. So I am left with the worry that this could be sinister and a go has diagnosed me via a receptionist??? Just to add I have probably been to the gp 10 times in my life and I'm 47!

Phone lines are always very busy (!!!which is to be expected!!!) but once you get through with an urgent matter you are booked an appointment within reasonable time. For non urgent matters I feel the waiting time of roughly 3 weeks isn't bad at all however, appointments are VERY short so much so that if you have a complicated issue you often leave with nothing resolved or no treatment plan as the doctor will simply tell you they don't have the time to continue and you should book another apointment which is frustrating if you've been waiting some time for the appointment in the first place to have to wait 3+ weeks again. Every nurse appointment I have been to has been lovely and reassuring. I have only ever spoken to two helpful receptionists. The rudeness and incompassion is ridiculous. A GP front of house team should be fully trained to deal with human beings in a kind compassionate way and to be able to deal with patients with mental illnesses, learning difficulties, etc. I have been and have heard other patients be called "liars" and told "it doesn't matter what they say" by receptionists, one of the culprits being the person who's voice is on the practice phone recording. The tone patients are spoken to in is also very poor. I truely believe that all receptionists should have more training and then be reviewed to what they really need to work on. You chose to work as a GP receptionist, your job is to support doctors, nurses and PATIENTS. Just the way speak to someone can affect their entire mood which I know works both ways but again, you decided become a GP receptionist. If you speak to someone with anxiety and depression the way I've been spoken to and heard others spoken to you could really damage that person. I honestly can't express how awfully trained reception are. I could write a book telling the situations I've had with reception and heard other patients have. I want to move practices but it seems all practices in the building have untrained staff which cause unnecessary stress to patients.

Thank you to the reception staff for your kindness in helping us look after our elderly fathers complex needs and to the GPs who are always polite and courteous
